Insightra Medical was founded in March of 2001 as a medical innovator, developing medical devices in the cardiology, surgery, endoscopy, and urology areas.
The company’s first headquarters were located in the Rockfield Business park, California. The charter was to create niche surgical products based on proprietary designs with a focus on identifying and developing medical device disposables with a short regulatory path. Since then, the company has developed into a strong general surgery company with a focus on inguinal and ventral hernia.
The company’s products includes the Modulare Catheter Stabilisation Device, the Freedom Inguinal Hernia Repair System and the Freedom Ventral Hernia Repair System, which received FDA approval in 2012 and 2015 respectively, allowing them to enter the general surgery.
In 2007 the company obtained CE mark & FDA clearance to market the Ultra 7Fr Intra-Aortic Balloon Catheter, the world’s smallest IAB catheter, and established a global sales and distribution network which now includes Reetrakt Ultra Low Profile soft tissue retractors and the 7fr Ultra Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump.
FloMedical is proud to supply Australia with Insightra’s Modulare catheter stabilization device.
Insightra sees success in business as a mixture of having the right products and the right people. The company has headquarters in Irvine, California, and also has a wide presence in the US, Europe and Asia.
